I am using Firefox 14.0.1 and wanted to install Tor to privatize my surfing. Tor would not load properly so I tried to load TorButton separately and that didn't work. but after I tried to run Firefox it appeared that Tor had disabled my Flash player and I keep getting the error that I need to download Flash player. I have downloaded it about a dozen times and It still will not allow me to play videos using Flash.

I now found the trick. When I was trying to use Tor and Tor Button, I opened Firefox with two tabs open, my homepage and Google search. Tor or the Tor Button affected the home page. I deleted my home page tab, opened a new tab, and pointed it to my homepage, and everything was the way it should be. I tried some of the other suggestions but they didn't help.

Hi,

Please try the Reset Firefox feature via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.

(To revert to the previous profile you were using, close the new profile (i.e. exit Firefox), start Firefox and choose the Default User profile. While the Profile Manager is open, you can also delete the newly reset profile (the one containing random numbers), or the former profile, as the case may be). If the reset is okay, it would be a good idea to delete the old profile as otherwise it would be left intact with the previous data until deleted.

Do you see the Flash plugin on the "Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page and on the about:plugins page?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
