When I check my email there are bills and work sites I go to I know that they are trusted but each time I click on the link a message comes up saying Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page. What can I do to stop this? It just isn't certain pages it is all of them I have to click the allow button on the right side of the page just to open the page. Because some of my game sites have pop up windows for the game I have unblock the pop up windows I have check everything else on my computer and all is working fine.

Hi oneangryviewer

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If this didn't help then please start a new thread.

Then you can provide more information like your operating system and installed extensions and installed plugins.

Hello WhiteDove2043, try to UNCHECK the Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page, go from : Tools > Options > Advanced > General tab > Accessibility > Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page [ ]. Don't forget to click OK to save it.

see for more info : Accessibility

thank you

I have a similar problem when I click links on trusted sites that I expect will open in a new window or a new tab, but when I click on them, nothing happens. I don't get an error or anything. I'd rather not use IE, but it will open my windows. :/

Also, I checked my settings mentioned in the previous post, and that box was already unchecked.
