New add-ons I download show up on the add-ons manager, but not in the drop down menu
When I download a new add-on via the Mozilla add-on site, the add-on will show up in my add-ons manager, but I cannot use it, because it won't show up on my drop-on menu even though the add-ons manager says that said add-ons are enabled. How do I fix this? Also, I can download add-ons that work fine by visiting websites like amazon or dictionary.com where their add-ons pop up in the menu when you visit.
Thanks.

Please provide a screenshot of that drop-down menu.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.
Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.
Here you are.
Thanks for the response.
The answer to the second part of your question is yes. Also the only addons that would show up in the drop down that you show are added search engines. It would also be helpful if you included the name of the addons that you are having the problems with.
OK, what you are referring to are search plugins that appear as Search Engines in the Search Bar. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/search-bar-easily-choose-your-search-engine
Specifically, which search plugins have you installed that don't appear in the drop-down in the Search Bar?
The Redirect to google.com main site 0.8, Google Image Search 1.14, and the Amazon.ca ContextMenu copy.rev8 ones are not showing up.
Those are all extensions and aren't going to appear in the Search Bar.
This one is an automatic redirection, and has no user controls. Redirect to google.com main site 0.8
These two appear in the Contextual Menu (right-click menu) when appropriate. Google Image Search 0.5 Amazon.ca - Search highlighted text copy.rev8
Alright. I see. If I want an add-on for the Google Images search engine in my search bar, which one should I be looking for?
