In Firefox Vers. 31.0, I can add multiple bookmarks to the Bookmark Toolbar, but if I added any more than four bookmarks to the toolbar then close Firefox the next time I open it there are only four bookmarks on the toolbar. I've been a techie for years so I've tried about everything I can think of including adding the bookmarks different ways...dragging and dropping and/or selecting "Bookmark This Page" and selecting to add it to the toolbar but still I'm only allowed four bookmarks on the toolbar after a restart. Any suggestions??

Chosen solution

Are the other bookmarks moved to the overflow area and appear under the chevron drop-down list or are they gone from the Bookmarks Toolbar?

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Thank you Cor-el for the solution!

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Bookmarks_history_and_toolbar_buttons_not_working_-_Firefox

Under the section: "Problems limited to bookmarks]"

Quoting their text:

"Try creating a new bookmark backup file in Firefox via "Bookmarks -> Show all (or Organize) Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Backup" and then restore the new backup"

Backing up and restoring the Bookmarks did the job, I now have a full toolbar of link icons.

Thanks again!
