Hi, I am using Firefox 32.0.3 and have problem with saving 'exceptions' on passwords.

When I login to a site and Firefox asks me to save the password, I click 'never'.

However, when I clear my history (all boxes are checked) and I go to the same site and login Firefox asks me again if I want to save the password.

When looking in options, the 'exceptions' are aslo cleared.

Please can you help me to save the 'exceptions' permanently?

Thanks!

Chosen solution

The way you clear everything means that Firefox will clear everything. To have security concerns is wise. But clearing everything is not necessary. Turn off the options for cookies, site preferences, offline website data. Restart Firefox, then check if this works.

Hi Fred, Many thanks for you support.

I have tested your suggested and narrowed it down to leave only 'site preferences' unchecked.

Works perfect.

Thanks again for helping me out.

O forgot 1 thing...

Where is the logic of saving the 'saved passwords' when all options are checked while clearing the history but not you 'exceptions on passwords'?

Some users want to save, some want to clean out everything. The programs should have added a warning about conflicts. Hello,

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.
