Complete error message is: An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: Cannot connect to SMTP server 107.14.166.72 (107.14.166.72:25), NB connect error 1460.

Using Windows 7, avast. Has happened before on other than home. Now on verizon fios wifi. Last time was on att.

Appreciate any help.

Maybe correct for when you are on their network but most providers and networks block port 25 since it is not secure. It you told the help desk that you were off network it is pretty sad that they did not know this. Ask them what their secure port is that uses authentication and make the change to that. It will more than likely be port 587 or 465 with SSL and normal password.

Thanks Airmail. Tried what you suggested w/o success. Shut down TB and restarted, no help. Rebooted laptop, nothing. Called Brighthouse (Roadrunner) they stated I should be using 587 w SSL and normal password. Tried one more time and still have same problem. So am receiving/sending directly on RR site till I get home.

What do you have for the username? Some providers want the entire username and some just want the part before the @ sign.

My user name is my complete email address.
