What is the help article sending you to look at? This advice might be obsolete.

Anyway, there are two menus in Firefox 34:

  • Application menu you open using the "3-bar" menu button on the right end of the main toolbar. To compare with the old Firefox menu from Firefox 4-28, see this page.
  • Optional menu bar (File, Edit, View...) which you can display if you like using one of these methods:
    • right-click a blank area of the tab bar > Menu Bar
    • right-click the "+" button on the tab bar > Menu Bar
    • tap the Alt key to display the bar temporarily, then View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
    • Use the Customize feature to access the Show/Hide Toolbars button (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)
