New search suggestions is bloated with extra, non-useful space
The new search suggestions in Firefox 34 has a lot of useless bloat that makes me want to switch browsers. After switching back to Google as the default search provider and removing all other search providers so that they won't show up, I still have a useless banner at the top announcing I've chosen Google (thanks, I know) and a big button for "Search Settings" (If I want to get to search settings, I'll go to Options, thanks). How do I go back to the simple, clean list with JUST the search results as I type?

You can revert to the former Search Bar scheme like this.
Open up about:config (typed in the Location Bar) Right-click and toggle this preference to false:
browser.search.showOneOffButtons Then restart Firefox.
