Firefox keeps asking to change settings whenever i open it.
Everytime i open firefox it ask for it to allow to make changes. I have gone into properties and made sure comparability has been unchecked. also my firefox runs so slow, freezes a lot, crashes a lot and scrolling is laggy. I'm running on an i5 surface 3. thanks

Adware and malware sneaks into systems without the users knowledge. Please try one or two of the above scanners.

A possible cause of this nessage is that Firefox is set to run as Administrator. Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator. Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties". Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
- Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
- "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have tried this and it does not solve the problem
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift (Mac Options) > key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Hi, starting in safemode it still occurs. I'm certain I don't have any malware or anything, I keep my laptop clean and I don't download anything. Thank you :)
