Firefox 3.6 or 36? 3.6 came out 5 years ago, 36 came out two weeks ago. You shouldn't be using 3.6, but you should be using 36.

Try downloading the correct version of the toolbar from http://www.alexa.com/toolbar. If it continues to not work contact Alexa.
