Firefox is generating duplicate (and more) copies of the my windows and tabs. I've uninstalled but sill get the same result. When I close one of the duplicates windows, all of them close.

BTW, I have the Session Manager addon installed. Even when I close all pages and attempt to start a brand new window, the last session's multiple windows and duplicates are displayed.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

You may have a bad sessionstore.js file.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
