I read a post in archive titled "remove gophoto.it" but the answer assumed one knows their way around files and folders. I need a start to finish instruction valid for Yosemite, as the problem of ANNOYING, IRRELEVANT ads covering up content of all my pages started after installing Yosemite on iMac 24 inch, Early 2008, 2.8 GHz Intel Dore 2 Duo, 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Extensions can be installed globally for one user in the home directory (~/Library/Application Support/Mozilla) and for all users (/Library/Application Support/Mozilla).

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Extensions/{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}
  • /Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Extensions/{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}

Note that {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} is the GUID of the Firefox application.

In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.
