Firefox disappeared from my computer...why?
I had a window telling me to update my Firefox. When I did, it said something like I had a version that was not supported and told me to restart my computer. I did and now I cannot find Firefox or even get to the Internet. The Firefox icon changed on my computer as well from the world with the fox to the application symbol and only the word Firefox. I tried opening it from my applications and it said it was an 'alias' not an application. Please help!
Thank you!

The first thing we lack here is information about your computer but anyway this seems the problem of a malware with the effects it seems that somehow your firefox was uninstalled or your installation corrupted.
First thing you should do is scan for malware, and then perform a fresh installation of firefox from mozilla and that should do the work.
If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins or scanning for malware then such a message is likely a scam and you should never respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.
- Only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
- Plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
