After win7 upgrade to win10 Thunderbird stopped connecting to server
All mail folders and contents are intact. However, nothing in or out. TB does work in a fresh install of win10. However, in the upgraded version, no TB seems to have no access to the network layer much less an email server. The Windows FW IS turned off. If we can fix this we also might fix FireFox (IE11) which also has no network access. Edge and Chrome function.

Did not try Safe Mode.. hijackthis revealed that SpeedBit Video Accelerator had 6 or more LSP entries for the same file. LSPfix unable to repair but supprise when I uninstalled the app the entire stack cleaned up. upon reboot, Bing changed my wallpaper and all things were well. I knew the issue was not a mozilla thing since FF and TB worked in the clean install hunting for diagnostic suggestions. Thank You
Perhaps relevant to this problem, someone informed me that on win10 "the network adapter needs to be reset on some upgrades to allow programs other than Edge internet access. It is a command line process that is fixed, as I understand it, in this weeks roll up for Windows 10. ... look for this week's Windows 10 fixes."
Please tell us, does this help?
Um, I guess I forgot to tag 'solved' on my last post.. about removing all the extra (bogus) LSP links that were installed by various instals of Speedbit video accelerator..
Thank you..
