After a recent Windows automatic update, I have been unable to open thunderbird email. I get a message "couldn't load XPCOM" I tried uninstalling Mozilla Firefox and downloading to the latest version which didn't help. Any ideas as to fixing this problem.

Help! I have this same problem after recent upgrade attempt to latest version. Are you suggesting I install again over the existing copy of Thunderbird? I need to get to my emails, and wishing I had not upgraded. Colin Burge

I don't care if you install over the existing or remove it an reinstall. It makes not difference at a practical level
