I really, really do not want a Google account!!! And I'm not the only one. So is there any way to install Firefox for Android on my smartphone without using the Google Play store? (I do have an Amazon account.)

If not, then a) there ought to be, and b) the permissions that Firefox for Android needs should be minimised to genuine needs, not Google/Android needs. (Google/Android is far too intrusive! )

The reason for Google Play for Release and Beta before was because manually installed Firefox .apk did not get updates outside of Google Play.
