TB still shows there are unread messages even after all are marked as read
This has been going on for quite a long time and in the mean time i also formatted and reinstalled TB and the same behavior happens. So, when i receive some messages i get the notifications as usual but after i go and read them all the little envelope remains in the corner. I have to click on the inbox for it to go away. This is bothersome when im trying to watch some information in a big mail but i also have to switch to inbox to make sure i have no mails i should check out (i use a lot of filtered folders).

no... that doesnt help... especially when i get several mails at a time... which happens quite often... even if i click on it ... it will open the first one after which i have to go through the others and the same behavior happens... it used to be that after you read all mails the marker would go away... has this behavior changed?
I do not know. I turned it off years ago because it tended to hang around in the system tray. That bug probably got fixed. But from what you are saying perhaps not. Really I check my mail when I am ready, not as soon as it comes in. I find that leads to no real work getting done if I spend to much time attending to new mail
