After creating a link to a website, Thunderbird keeps underling all text after the link.

I have Thunderbird 45.5.0 on a windows 10 laptop. Any time I write an email and include a link to a website by using the insert function. Thunderbird won't quit underlining any text I type after the link. The underline button will not turn off the underlining nor will CTRL+U.

Hi, I know this behavior too, not only with linking content but with addon like 'highlighter'. My workaround here is simply inserting a new line (press enter or shift+enter) before putting in a link or marking any text. Not the best but a solution. Good luck. Greetings, Karsten

That work around seems to work, but doesn't answer why it sticks in underline mode to start with.
