Firefox are blocking YouTube, don't load any s.ytimg.com resource

more options

Hi, since version 60.0.2 my Firefox stop load YouTube properly, I can use it on Chrome or Safari, the block just happen on FireFox. I try to disable the plugins and also to start in safe mode, but nothings works.

The problem appears to be the https://s.ytimg.com/yts/jsbin/* JS resources that YouTube web page are calling, if I try to access any of them FireFox tell me that the site is insecure, but Chrome and Safari don't have any trouble.

Any ideas? It's very tedious to have to change to another browser just to see YouTube.

Thanks in advance.

Chosen solution

The System Details listlist shows: Adblock Plus 3.1

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
  • check the Web Console for more detail about what content is blocked by Tracking Protection
  • "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer

Thanks cor-el.

I have AdBlock installed, that's true, but I added youtube.com and ytimg.com tho the whitelists, also try to disable AdBlock at All, and also I run FireFox with no extensions. And the problem always persists.

The shield doesn't appear on ytimg.com neither on youtube.com.

However, I open the Web Developer Tools on the ytimg.com Tab, and after a few reloads, the JS start to load, and now, the block situation appears to be gone.

I don't know why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So if any one have a similar problem, just open the Web Tools, refresh the blocked site, and magic happen.
