In the Bookmarks Toolbar I have folders that contain bookmarks. I wish to delete a number of them. Too bad I cannot just use 'delete' on my keyboard. To open each one separately will take a long time. Why are bookmarks so special that I cannot simply delete them?

Hi, you should be on this end to find out how special they are.

If you have the Bookmark Toolbar open under the Address Bar that runs the width if the browser. You can click on a Folder and Right Click and Delete it.

Same goes for any other Folder that is among the many ways to get to the bookmarks. Right Click and Delete it.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I do not wish to delete Folders. I wish to delete selected bookmarks within Folders. Thank you.

Click and right click, that is it. Do what you have to do.

With older versions of Firefox, you could open the "Show all bookmarks" window and then use the usual techniques (shift-click, control-click, or drag) to select multiple bookmarks and then cut and paste them to different folders or delete them.

But with Firefox version 59 + on Windows this function does not work.

Maybe have better luck with one of these Extensions : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/search/?platform=mac&q=bookmark+managers
