not saved or not remembered. They are actually different things.

This post is for a different problem, but it does explain how to use about profiles to check things out. https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2019/09/i-lost-my-profilemail-on-update-to.html

Thanks so much. When I went to profiles, there were multiple profiles set up. I deleted all of them but one and when I clicked on launch new profile in new browser, I did see all my folders. I therefore set that as the default.

But when I closed Thunderbird and then re-opened it, I first got my folders. Then I re-booted the machine and when I opened Thunderbird, it again acted as if it had not created a profile. When I went into profiles, it now had two - the new one it was trying to create as the default and the correct one. So you are correct the it is saving but not remembering.

Any thoughts? Thanks again.
