Using 74.0a1 (2020-01-29) (64-bit) I can't get the open new contaner menu to pop up. This has happened for several days now. I can only create a container tab by creating a new global tab then right clicking on it and choosing 'Reopen in Container'

Note that you can right-click instead of a long left click to open the container context menu. On about:preferences#containers you can set whether to open this container menu always with a left-click if you use it a lot, but if you only use container occasionally then using the right-click menu might be a better choice.

Yes, they've changed something in this function recently. See https://bugzil.la/1606265 . It looks like now it's a left click (under the preference).
