Upgraded windows to 10, 2004. Thunderbird has also upgraded. Click on Thunderbird icon (icon is a box with cd) Pop up says. "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Thunderbird. Do you want to reboot now"

I go a head and reboot my computer but nothing changes.

Go back to Thunderbird and the icon (icon is a box with cd) is still the same and the same pop up appears when i log in.

I have rebooted my computer several times with no change.

I've seen this before, you do not need to reboot a computer in order to get update from Thunderbird. This is the Windows update causing an issue.

Uninstall Thunderbird directly, locate: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird Delete the 'Mozilla Thunderbird' folder

Empty the computer 'Recycle Bin'

Then get a fresh download from here and install. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/
