TB 91.7.0 on RHEL7 just downloaded from mozilla.

I have TB working on two Ubuntu 20.04 machines at home from the ppa. I tried using our older TB 19.4.x version from our yum repo here, but although I could create my gmail account on TB there, I could not use openPGP I think because RHEL7 doesn't include some pgp library or the other: I'm not sure.

Anyway, that's why I thought I would try the 91.7 tarball downloaded from mozilla.

I was able to add a privateemail.com email account without any problems. Unrelated, but a relief to me: OpenPGP works fine here, too.

But when I try to add my gmail account here, it whines: Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

I use 2FA for my google accounts.

Most of my searching around for answers deal with old answers and generally involve making sure OAuth2 is enabled. If I click on "configure manually", it shows me that OAuth2 is selected.

IMAP lists imap.gmail.com:993 SSL/TLS OAuth2. SMTP shows smtp.gmail.com:465 SSL/TLS OAuth2.

These were auto-discovered by TB. They look like what I remember from setting up on Ubuntu.

Any suggestions?

Are you attempting to login with an app password? That won't work with OAuth2, you'll have to use the main account password. It may help to delete any old Gmail account passwords Thunderbird has remembered.
