Using multiple profiles. Checked work offline. Thunderbird opens to a page asking me to "Setup Your Existing Email Account" when I'm attempting to open an old email account.

The server settings have changed since this profile was used. Thunderbird is giving this error message: Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

Why is Thunderbird asking me to do this and trying to connect to the server when I requested to work offline?

That message is apparently only when Thunderbird is refusing to use the selected profile and starts creating a new one. I do not know why it is refusing to use your old profile. But that is what is happening.
