To the right of the url bar I have a search bar. I also had an individual search bar, with a drop down feature, that was located directly under "page back/forward" and "refresh" icon on the top left of the screen but is gone. The search bar had drop-down feature which listed a number of your last search terms. How can I get this search bar back?

That is not a standard feature of Firefox but sounds like a toolbar. I see you have the Google toolbar installed, it is possibly that toolbar and may have become hidden. In the View menu select Toolbars, then click on Google Toolbar in the list of toolbars to toggle displaying it. Any other toolbars you have installed will also be listed there.
