Cannot change backround color of loaded page to my preference. I want black text on a light green backround.

go to tools-options-fonts and colors-colors- I select green backround, black text- page does not change to green backround and black text.

You also need to disable web page colors:

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [ ] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

None of what you say works. I cannot change the page backround color or font color.

Did you try the NoSquint extension?

Yes, I tried no squint and that did not work either. This is baffling. I always had the ability to change page colours and font types at will in older versions of netscape and firefox.
