After clearing my history and disabling tracking, when I visit certain websites, they tell me when I last visited and the date of that visit. How do I stop their tracking and build up of information on my habits?

There are 2 options of which I know:

1 - go to 'properties' and set to not allow cookies unless you ok it; there are some you'll feel safe allowing permanent access, some you won't.
2 - add Firefox NoScript plug-in - this of course won't work in other browsers, but since I prefer Firefox I find this plug-in invaluable.
