I keep getting a pop up saying to update to Firefox 6.0 to fix a security patch? I only have Firefox 5.0 installed. Is this a virus threat?

Several times a week a pop up window appears saying we need a security update Firefox 6.0. I have closed the box every time because the version of Firefox we have on our new computer is 5.0 according to the Help | About Firefox info.
