Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting
- Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
- Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"

Removing the Private Browsing settings the command Bookmarks/Show all bookmarks/Import and Backup/Import data from another browser has been enabled. Problem solved. Thanks
hi Corel, I went back to IE9 and then lost it again so really want to use Firefox but can't get my Favorites to show under that name. when I originally imported them they went under Firefox\bookmarks. Just me I like them under Favorites. I unchecked or changed that setting and deselect "Always use private browsing mode" once before and see it went back again/????If there is a way to do that let me know please...ty hagd or night now
Hi LouA, I'm not sure whether private browsing mode is relevant to your question.
There isn't an easy way to rename the Bookmarks menu to Favorites. However, if you had a Favorites menu in Firefox before, you might have been using an add-on such as PlainOldFavorites that displays your IE Favorites directly in Firefox. Does that look familiar?
Hi Jscher: No that wasn't familiar to me at all but think (lol) that I just D/L'd it anyway. I noticeds on the wife's laptop that she has "Favorites" under bookmarks but she has Windows 7 on her pc and I have Vista Ultimate on my pc... so actually that has to be the reason. and I suppose I will forget about it and just use it as it is with Bookmarks. They are all there so really I have np....Just my preference... Thank you for your reply and hagd and holiday weekend.
