I would like to prevent downloaded files from being automatically cleared.

Sometime after downloading the current version of Firefox, all downloaded files began to be cleared automatically. I think it is much more convenient if I have to manually clear downloaded files. How do I change settings to achieve this?

As far as I know, Firefox never ever deletes any downloaded file. It may, howewer, remove the names of downloaded files from the list by flushing the recent history.

Further possible reasons or explanations for disappearance:

  • downloaded the file somewhere else than into the default folder
  • opened the downloaded file without storing it

By the looks of it, you are using Firefox 3.6, so my answers may be a little off-the-target: Why not upgrade to the latest Firefox?
