With FF 8.0 many bookmark icons have gone missing. How do I restore them?

Seems that since upgrading to FF 8.0 many bookmarks lack their associated icon. Also they are sometimes not seen in the url bar. I have seen that there are 'delete' add-ons but nothing regarding the restoration of icons. Please tell me what should I do to restore them?
