I loaded Firefox on my Kindle Fire from a FTP site and seems to be working. The Firefox site states that the Kindle Fire defaults to the mobile mode and to have it default to a tablet mode see below but nothing is there.

Chosen solution

You can type about:config in the address bar and using the filter find browser.ui.layout.tablet. Select it and use the arrow buttons to change the value to 1.

This is an unsupported configuration and may result in an unusable interface.

It doesn't work. There is no browser.ui.layout.tablet, so i added it with value 1. Tried string and integer. No any effect. It still in phone UI.

You should try the Firefox 15.0b2 when it is released on https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox_beta as soon as today or tomorrow it is said it will have tablet ui and will also support Flash on Honeycomb 3.x for those users.
