Recently, I lost my audio when playing any type of video off of the Firefox website. I updated all of my plug-ins including Adobe Flash, Java and my video card. I am not experiencing the same problems when using Internet Explorer. I am running Windows 7 professional with a 64bit PC.

Grannygeek- Thank you so much. By downloading the version of flash player you suggested, my audio has resumed. Now if you could tell me how to get my audio back when I play itunes videos, I would be in heaven. Thanks again.

Yes, the video portion plays fine. It's the audio that's missing when I play a video using Firefox. A week ago or so, I was watching and listening to Adobe Photoshop tutorials and all I get now is the video without sound.

Try to clear the Flash local storage and settings.

  • Windows Control Panel > Flash Player, click Delete All and Delete Data

Sorry, but am I missing a step? When I go to Windows/Control Panel/ I see System and Security, Network and Internet, Hardware and Sound, Programs, User Accounts and Family Safety, Appearance and Personalization, Clock, Language and Region, Ease of Access. How do I navigate from Control Panel to Firefox? Thanks.

You need to access the Flash player settings via the Control Panel (so not Firefox) or access the website that embeds a Flash object that shows the settings.

I solved the problem by downloading and installing install_flash_player_11_active_x_64bit.exe. That's 11.6, probably a beta. Sorry I don't have a link. I scoured the web for solutions.

Moplatka, sorry, but since I've discovered that my SkyDrive account is a far easier way to move files onto my iPad, I have not used iTunes for anything. I don't know if I've lost audio there.

But maybe you are a Mac person. If so, I hope you find heaven soon.
