I've used Firefox for some time. Since my Windows XP OS was reinstalled movies on sites like Vimeo or Adobe etc run very poorly. They run OK on IE
Movies are running as though they are buffering. They are playing intermittently, skipping every few frames. I'm using Firefox v 13.0.1 and have a 10MB download speed.
They used to play very well on Firefox before the reinstall. I don't know if that has any bearing on the problem. The same movies play OK on Internet Explorer but I don't want to use that browser.

Flash 11.3 player has a number of issues when used on Windows Firefox, often relating to use of a new security feature protected mode this however should NOT affect XP users.
It is still possible it is some problem with Flash 11.3 if so it may be worth considering downgrading from FlashPlayer 11.3 to Flash 10.3 (secure) or the newer and less secure Flashh 11.2 You could try that just as a troubleshooting step, and revert back if things do not improve.
First of all experiment with
- turning off (or on) Hardware Acceleration
- checking wheter security software etc may be blocking or slowing Flash
- ensure graphics drivers are updated

Thanks for your speedy reply John99. Is it likely that issues related to your suggestions:
turning off (or on) Hardware Acceleration checking wheter security software etc may be blocking or slowing Flash ensure graphics drivers are updated
Would also affect Internet Explorer? Movies play OK on IE. Does this complicate things?
It is possible any of those potential issues could affect Firefox but not IE.
Note if you use the Adobe uninstaller to remove Flash 11.3 you probably will then need to review the IE setup also as the installer is likely to uninstall the IE version of FlashPlayer .
UPDATE Interestingly John99, in searching for the earlier version of Flash that you mentioned I have discovered that there are two flavours of Flash, one for IE and the other for all Non IE browsers.
I suspect that the guy who did the reinstall of my OS didn't distinguish between the two (I didn't know about it either) and installed the IE version because having now installed the Non IE version movies now seem to play OK on my Firefox browser.
So, until you hear otherwise, the problem appears to be fixed. Thanks for the advice.

Glad the problem is resolved.
The flash 11.3 crashes article should contain the links you require. The IE version of Flash software would not allow Firefox to play Flash Video, so I am not sure how they were playing at all. (Maybe the sites have other streams available HTML5 or Windows)
