Hi,

I never managed to have firefox running nicely with my Macbook pro 15' retina under Mac OX 10.8. It has always been blurry (UI and websites). I tried v18, v19 and resetting all parameters... no luck...

v18 was supposed to bring retina support and I can see I am not the only one in this situation...

Any help? Thanks,

Have you read and tried the suggestions in the recent thread Is there retina display support for new Firefox 19? /questions/950900. Please look at that and say what you have tried.

This is a relatively new feature and does seem to cause some problems. There are some threads about this but not a mass of feedback about blurry screens.

You did not include troubleshooting information when you posted this. Please paste into the next reply a list of your modified preferences.

How bad is it, maybe post screen shot of it with retina enabled and disabled

Do you only have a problem when retina is enabled ?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I already had a look at this thread before but it looks like I missed trying changing this setting: gfx.hidpi.enabled. I set the value to 2 and restarted FF and now it's ok, ie graphics look sharp on the retina display.

Definitively a setting that should be defaulted to 2 for mac retina users... if not the user experience is quite bad. I understand this is because there are still some bugs about menus? Any hope for v20 ?

Thanks,

Glad it helped.

As for version 20 that is already out in Beta, but nothing that relates to retina important enough to list here

Please do not post in bugs (etiquette), but there is a listing of some related bugs in this one (The info is not user friendly; and the 300+ comment original bug even less so)
