Several pages which I have previously visited will not load. I get "page cannot be found" or "server cannot be found" even though it will open all other websites. I have cleared cookies and cache and reset Firefox to no avail.

Most probably you have a corrupted cache try delete by typing %appdata% in run and deleting Mozilla folder note that all data will be lost and Mozilla would be like new. If problem persists it could be that you have a DNS problem
