Can't move window or use Firebug

more options

I cannot resize nor move the window of my firefox browser.

Fire bug is unresponsive when i try to click anything in it, and so can download windows (as in save or cancel not the windows file explorer) with the added bonus of dialog boxes often loosing focus (though staying in front) leading to unwanted click on the web page behind them.

Chosen solution

I FOUND THE SOLUTION, so I realized that my windows 8 charm bar also wasn't working and figured if I couldn't fix the browsers I would fix that. Charm Bar example image

This lead me to need to preform a safe boot to see if it worked, out of curiosity i also tested fire fox and it was working as well.

I disabled an apparently malfunctioning Trillian messenger and now everything is working like it was before (trillian uninstalled because i don't use it anyway).

Make sure the you aren't running Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 to toggle) and that the Firefox window isn't maximized (Alt+Space or right-click the Firefox icon on the Windows Task bar).

You can also check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

None of the above proved relevant

Exited and Deleted and that did nothing as well.

However now the problem only occurs when i have more than one tab open

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

re-installed so there aren't any extensions, and safe mode hasn't helped either.

Also I'm not using a third party theme
