If I click the Bookmark Star once, the new bookmark defaults to the Unsorted Bookmarks Folder.

I want to click it once and send it to the Bookmarks Menu, the way the previous version did. Not double click the star, then two more clicks to change the folder and accept the new folder choice. And not Control-D either.

Please give users the option to use the previous version's default bookmarking behaviour.

Sorry for the frustration. The clear/blue star works like the old clear/yellow star that was in the address bar. Probably you never used that one.

To access the old dialog that defaults to the Bookmarks Menu, you can:

  • right-click on the page > Bookmark This Page
  • Ctrl+d (which you said you do not want to use)

What method were you using before? Menu?

Instead of the new Bookmark star, go to the Menu Bar and click Bookmarks, followed by Bookmark This Page. This gives you the Bookmark box with the option to select a folder to save in.

That doesn't solve the issue - the default has changed and cannot be altered by users. And It still requires more clicks.

Ctrl + D does it in 2 clicks Bookmark from the menu bar does it in 3 clicks Using the Bookmark star requires 4 clicks

I guess Ctrl + D is your best bet.
