Firefox freezes for a second

Certain pages (sportowefakty.pl, progarchives.com to name a few) cause other currently open Firefox pages to freeze for one second repeatedly while browsing. Firefox restart helps. That problem was also present on Internet Explorer. On Allegro.pl there is a turning little "sun" where there should be an information about my cart. This Allegro problem is absent when I use Internet Explorer.

I've had these problems for months now. I switched off all addons and extensions, but that didn't help.

Windows 7 Home Premium, Symantec Norton Internet Security.
