There must have been an update that I missed. I was able to delete bookmarks early on 12-24-14. When I tried to delete some bookmarks this morning by right clicking with my mouse my attempts are failed. The delete button does not work either.

Windows 7 Firefox v: 34.0.5

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

This is too complicated for me to use. I am an intermediate user and am able to fix most problems, just not this one. The right click menu is not working. I am able to access the bookmarks through the windows menu that pops up when I hit the alt key. I am able to delete bookmarks this way. It is so much easier to use the right click menu instead of this method. Maybe the problem will work itself out with the next update. If it doesn't I guess that I will have to take it to the clinic to get better. Thank you for your help anyways!

Try the Places Maintenance extension to see if that notices a problem.
