There is no text in this popup window, and when I click outside of the window, there is an "error" tone that plays. The only way I can close Firefox is to open task manager and end task. I have removed Firefox from my computer and reinstalled it, and this did not solve the problem. Included is a screenshot of what it looks like.

This can possibly be caused by the AOL toolbar.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
