I don't want anything to do with funmoods, and I have tried to download directly from Mozilla, or through cnet, but I keep getting funmoods and when I go to remove funmoods it is not listed and doesn't go away (even temporarily) until I delete firefox....

Firefox shouldn't be giving you any additional software. To be sure, though, when installing Firefox (please do so from Mozilla.org), look closely to see if there are any options for any extra software. Though I doubt there is any, it's always a good idea to check.

Just because you see funmoods appearing when you use Firefox (from mozilla.org) does not automatically mean Firefox comes with it.

Firefox for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from mozilla.org or mozilla.org/firefox/all does not come bundled with anything questionable including the funmoods you claim

Also do be extremely careful in downloading from Cnet aka download .com as it is a known adware site that uses its own installer to bundle stuff with otherwise clean software. Downloading software from CNET may be why you are infected with funmoods.
