Starting about a month ago, FF won't quit from the drop down menu- I have to force quit to get out of it. Also, preferences won't open from the drop down. When I first open FF, I can quit and preferences will open , but then as soon as I start surfing, that functionality ends. Sometimes opening a "new window" from the drop down menu is also affected. Could this be related to Ublock? Thanks!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for an add-on that puts a quit button on your toolbar.
