My bookmarks backup is from years ago, where is the newest one located?

more options

I'm trying to restore my bookmarks from my old hard drive to my new pc. I located the automatic backup file, chose the old with the most recent date, and successfully imported them into Firefox on the new PC. HOWEVER, these are bookmarks from YEARS ago, definitely not the list I was using before. I'm just baffled and not sure where to find the recent backup. I went where Firefox instructions said to go, appdata/roaming/ etc/ etc/etc

Yes, that's right:

Windows Vista and newer:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Remote\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

Note: If you haven't already, you will need to show hidden files and folders in order to dig into these folders. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

If you check the file modification dates in the old profile folder(s) that you found, do the files seem to be from the right dates?
