When entering a secure ID (eg. on a bank account), Mozilla remembers it and autofills it despite all suggested privacy and secure settings

For my online banking I do NOT want my ID to be autofilled when I enter the first letter/number. I've done everything that privacy and security help indicates including the shortcut that allows you to delete the autofill. The next time you enter the ID, logout and then login again the autofill is shown. I would have to use the shortcut and delete the autofill each time I login to use the account. I want complete security for my online bank account with no autofills. Looking for an answer.

There are two things that can auto post information. The Password Manager, and the form filler.

In the Password Manager, add that site in the Exections list. about:preferences#security

As to the form filler; Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar.

The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on Cache and Form And Search History.

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry
