I keep experiencing a problem with some of my mail not being delivered, even tho it's worked previously (and I haven't changed any account settings). No problem with my gmail accounts, which come into a variety of Thunderbird folders...but I also have a professional email account ("me@me.com") with a different host, which I have set up to forward to a separate Thunderbird folder.

Here are the local directories as shown in my Server Settings: Personal account: C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\7r5ti4vp.default\ImapMail\imap.googlemail.com Business account: C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\7r5ti4vp.default\ImapMail\mail.me.com

Looking at my Profile, in my ImapMail folder I have SEVERAL folders for me@me.com: imap.me.com, imap.me-1.com, mail.me.com, mail.me-1.com and mail.me-2.com. In that same ImapMail folder are ALSO folders for imap.gmailcom, imap.gmail-1.com, imap.googlemail.com, and imap.googlemail-1.com ...but all of them appear to be empty (even though I have hundreds of emails visible in my various mailboxes). My Mail folder also contains empty sub-folders.

Can anyone explain (a) why I have all these folders; (b) whether this may be the reason my mail isn't getting delivered; (c) why all the folders are empty; and (d) where are the folders that contain the text files for my emails?

Thanks!

WHat your loking at has nothing to do with the delivery of mails. Nothing at all. You click send, Thunderbird calls your SMTP server. When the server says it has received the message for dispatch the little sending dialog goes away. SO perhaps ask Apple what they are doing with your mail after they get it onto me.com.

As for your folder names, you get a new name for each time you run the new account wizard. The server name get a number appended if the folders are pre existing when the wizard runs. If you want to work out which is in use for an account have a look in the account settings where the local folder is specified.

Even for an active folder, you may only see a few msf files and their associated mail files (they have no extensions) Note the files are in mbox format, while text it is not text editor friendly as the files can be GB in size.
