When I set up a bookmark on my bookmark toolbar, I remove the website name so that I only have the icon on my bookmark bar (to save room). But some of the time, after opening the web page via the bookmark, the webpage name reappears next to the icon. I can't figure out why it happens sometimes, but not always. Nevertheless, I want to disable that. I only want ICONS to be on my bookmark bar.

I don't know if it's possible to prevent Firefox from making that kind of update, although I've never noticed it myself (I shorten names, but never remove them completely).

You may need to customize the Bookmarks Toolbar so it doesn't display the name, just the icon. Over the years, there have been may add-ons for restyling the bar, but one that I remember is:

Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar

There is a bug mentioned in some recent reviews that may be troublesome. If you don't find that to be a satisfactory workaround, either I or other support volunteers can probably come up with some other ideas.
