I am wondering why this isn't available from the players as I now have to have "unknown sources" turned on in my phone and tablet settings. I don't like having that oncat all, and for good reason. Is there some reason why this isn't oncthe play store?

Cheers, and thanks! Neil

Then why does it tell me it can't install and that I need to turn on "unknown sources" in my security settings on two different devices?

where does it tell that?

i'm unable to reproduce this myself - would it be possible to provide a screenshot of the message and the circumstances where it's showing up?

I'm not sure it will still do it since I turned on "use unknown sources". However it started when the new nightly build replaced the other beta versions of Firefox, Aurora. Now I'm in Nightly onxbothcdevices, but since you don't seem to know about this problem I'm starting wonder what I am in fact running. I hope that helps, and I hope even more it makes sense.

Sorry about the typos but these keyboards and androids method of selecting text is nearly imposible. Toss in that demented maniac AutoWrong and I'm basically screwed.

This is the feature to turn on: https://gs4.gadgethacks.com/forum/enable-unknown-sources-android-install-apps-outside-play-store-0150603/

However, let's research the reason behind the need. bbs

OK! Got a screenshot, I hope this is helpful.... Oh, it's too large to upload. This is where I start using g bad language at high volume. So I don't know what to tell you, I have a screenshot but your website won't deal with it because it's too big. Email maybe?

Try this: https://goo.gl/photos/NN8LeYfgMVDccAw68 Someday someone will make the web as easy to use as it was intended to be, untill then we all have to live with added complexity and Google.

You are installing Firefox from a downloaded APK. To avoid that you will need to open the Play app, search for Firefox Nightly and choose install.

I got it from the play store in the first place, so that seems unlikely. Mozilla changed Aurora to Nightly, and that is when this started. Once that happened I have been getting this message over had over. Much as I don't like the play store, I dislike turning on unknown sources even more and since I didn't do so untill after Mozilla told me to do so I suspect that it's something other than a downloaded APK. Logically it can't be unless that's what you guys send from the play store. Long story short, I didn't do it,cwhat ever it is is happening on two very different devices in excatly the same way.

All I can think to do is nuke it on both my phone and tablet and reinstall.
