Auto - Redirect from .net to .org (.net maybe doesnt exist, but who knows?)

Hey! Also with the new firefox, I get automatically redirected to the xxx.net site when I enter xxx.org. Could not disable this feature by "ask before redirect". What can I do? Cannot check if the first site exists and whether Firefox does right in the particular cases.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
